Ovu-Trac® Ovulation Predictor Kit

Who Developed Ovu-Trac® Ovulation Predictor Kit ?

As women we all have questions about fertility - but who do we ask?

As women we all ask ourselves the same questions about fertility, yet we haven't learned how to discuss them openly with each other. How many of us have wondered when we were ovulating but didn't know who to ask? For centuries we have been taught that it is not socially acceptable to ask questions related to fertility and sexuality. Even to this day, as liberated as women would like to believe they have become, these unspoken barriers still exist. Yes we have tampon commercials and our spouses are aware of PMS, the 'curse' and the pill, but most of us still don't understand our bodies and the basics of fertility. It appears that unless a woman experiences difficulty conceiving, has an allergic reaction to mainstream contraceptives or has a change in lifestyle, she isn't compelled to learn more about her fertility. What's interesting is that most of us don't know how much we don't know. What's worse is that there are few of us left who actually know...

For many years I struggled with the same questions about fertility that affect many women. I experienced cervical cancer from the pill, infertility, the blessings of pregnancy and the loss of miscarriage. Through all of this I felt like nobody could answer my questions - my doctors were too busy or didn't know the answers, my friends told me to relax and my mother just offered me more tea. I realized that I had to take responsibility for becoming aware of and educated about my body and to research my questions about fertility. But when I started looking for this information, I became keenly aware of its absence - it was scattered and difficult to find. It took me a very long time to bring all of the resources together that I needed to start understanding my body - information I wanted to share with other women so that they could benefit as well. I began developing the Ovu-Trac® Ovulation Predictor Kit in 1996 with the goal of providing women with a product that would not only give them a valuable tool for identifying fertility, but also supportive literature to help them to both understand and re-connect with their bodies.
